THERE is no better way to end 2006 than to feature our everdearest Janice, or Jace for short, or Ja for shorter, in our profile of the month series. what makes this post all the more special is the fact that December also happens to be a special month for her as she celebrates her birthday on the 28th. that makes her the youngest among the '79 babies of the group. but dont underestimate this ultimate crush-ng-bayan-Angel-Locsin-look-alike. she may be the youngest among some of us, but she is also one of the toughest. imagine this: a lady engineer, a mountaineer and a sports buff, how can i not say that? however, just like any normal human being, she is no stranger to heartaches. this pretty lady had experienced her heart being broken too at some point in her life. a certified toughie that she is, she was able to survive it all - with flying colors. hence, the description: beauty and strength personified.
To her friends, she's the type of person whom you can count on, at all times. she has proven to be the right person to turn to if you need someone to listen to your predicaments or if you are in need of an advice about your lovelife - she is just a phone call or a text message away. she's the type who listens, one who is not judgmental nor biased. there's a big possibility that she might scold you though. that's one thing everybody likes about her - she's always straightforward in giving advices. it is because she doesnt want you to lose focus on balancing what's right and what's not.
In get togethers, she is the one who's quiet at first but when she becomes comfortable with everybody, she can also hit the spotlight. she can leave you open-mouthed with all that she has to say about the different aspects of love and life in general. she is always vocal in expressing her views. in the end, you're just gonna admire the way she lives her life and how she hurdles every challenge that comes her way. that's the reason why she is an inspiration for many of us. if she was able to do it, why can't we? right?
If there's one thing many people dont know about her (with the exception of the ones closest to her like us, her friends), is that she is a funny person too. that is quite evident in some of her photos, just like the one above. another something everybody likes about her is that she doesnt get annoyed everytime some of us would make fun of her, uhmm.... sorry i cant mention it. Jhigz is the only person in the group who has the nerve to tease her about that part of her body. of course she loses her patience at times but it takes a while and it will never be obvious. in fact, she knows how to make fun of herself too. it all depends on her mood, actually.
Now, lets talk about her credentials... in college, she took up Industrial Engineering at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. she's working as a Merchandiser with Williamson-Dickies Manufacturing Co., for 2 years now. included among her achievements are: a Civil Service Eligibility, a certification and training on Basic Life Support from the Philippine National Red Cross, and some certifications on being a mountaineer, of which it is worth mentioning that she has reached quite a number of mountain summits in Southern Luzon together with her peers from the PUP Mountaineering Club. when asked which would she prefer over mountains and boys..... guess what she answered? hehehehe.
The jetsetter in her likes night outs, mountaineering and out of town gimmicks. but did you know that this certified toughie is also a fashionista and a shop-a-holic? she loves shopping, shopping and shopping! and i tell you she's a smart one with that although, impulsive at times (or most of the time?). she likes clothes, accessories and make-ups. when at home, she would either read romance novels or chill out in front of the telly watching her favorite shows on DVD or movies on cable TV.
According to her, she is: "Gimikera? pero cowboy pa rin… kayang makisama sa kahit anong klase ng tao. pwede mag adapt sa kahit na anong environment. madaling magtiwala – kaya madali maloko e! wants to live my life to the fullest, don’t want to waste my time thinking of the "what ifs" and the "why nots" – just plunges head first!!! AND just takes life on stride." that is why she lives by these principles: "Do whatever makes you happy – as long as it doesn’t hurt other people...", "Live your life the way you want it to be..." and "Live and let live."

4th – bawal ang “slow” – kelangan laging malakas ang pick-up

Seriously though, what I learned from this group is you just need to be yourself - pakita mo sa kung sino ka talaga kasi i-accept ka nila for who you are - not because of what u have or the material things you may bring to the group (nde po kami mayayaman! Despite some people think!).
AND this group is not JUDGEMENTAL. They may not agree to what your doing coz you may end up hurt in the end BUT i-accept nila un – kung un ang decision mo and they will not judge you for it – mababatukan kalang ng mga ATE at KUYA dito.
SNC: How do you see this group ten years from now?
JaCe: Hahah,, sabi nga nila.. magkakapitbahay na raw kami sa isang subdivision, magkaka-classmates ang mga anak namin sa Liceo, tapos laging me drinking session at get-together – if not every night then cguradong every week! Hahahah!!
Basta, ilang taon man ang dumaan at kahit san man mapadpad ang mga miyembro… alam kong anjan parin ang grupo - because this group will surely stand the test of time! Iba tau eh! hahahaha!
