SNC would not be complete without its resident “chekwa” ~ that’s none other than our "Daddy Gen", GENESIS ECURA DIAZ. Laid-back, cool, and a good sport especially when his favorite “tormentors” – the SNC girls – “gang up” on him, he is considered as one of the pillars of the group; practically the glue, if you may, that holds everyone together. He doesn’t only take on the role of a friend and barkada, but also a “kuya”, daddy, adviser, and protector, and dakilang driver, as well. Gen’s well-rounded personality – literally and figuratively – is a definite asset for him and for SNC, too – funny and comedic and entertaining during light moments, but serious, sincere and caring when the situation calls for it. To quote this chinky-eyed Scorpio when asked to describe himself, he says “AKO YUNG TIPONG MAKULIT AT MALAKAS MANG ASAR SA GRUPO”. Indeed! But when the fun and games have to be set aside to make way for the serious stuff, he is as disciplined as a military man can be. “Responsibility” is a common word in his vocabulary, being the eldest in the family, and a trait which he will carry with him always. In love, he wears his heart out on his sleeve – “palaging nadadapa sa pag-ibig”, he claims he is. His friends have been mute witnesses to these heartaches and will lay no objections to that. Most of all, and what makes Gen truly a treasured friend, he is “maaasahan at hindi mang-iiwan sa ere.” Again, no objections.

Sleeping is a luxury he cannot afford much nowadays due to the pressure of work, so whenever he can, he tries to catch some z’s to rejuvenate himself. And rejuvenate himself he must, since he also enjoys going on out-of-town trips and gimmicks with the rest of the group, and everyone knows what happens to people who fall asleep…! Gen here has been the unwilling victim of several occasions of “ranger” activities, hehehe! Aside from those, the child within Gen enjoys the pleasure of playing online games when the urge kicks in. Currently, he is raking in the big bucks working as a Technical Support Specialist at Siemens, one of the more reputable call centers in the country today. Hopefully, in the near future he will be able to reap the rewards of his labor when he becomes a full-fledged Electronics and Communications Engineer and attaches the suffix “ECE” to his name. But make no mistake - he has no qualms about not being a degree holder as yet; in fact, he prides himself at landing a good-paying job even without a diploma to declare him an official “engineer”. His down-to-earth and simple personality have to be credited for this wonderful attitude that Gen applies in his life.

Oh, and one of his other favorite things to do? FOODTRIP!!!
