SNC Profile of the Month: Monique
"I love life, successes and failures alike. It's what we make it." - Atty. Monica Cecilia F. Almeida.
Our featured profile for the month of March is Atty. Monica Cecilia Funtila Almeida. this soft-spoken gal, dubbed as the "baby of the group" is known by many as Monique, Monix, Niq and Kute. she describes herself as: "a simple person with simple joys. i won't say what you see is what you get because there's so much more to me than meets the eye." she further quips, "I may not be a good adviser, but i am a terrific listener. promise. approachable naman ako ah? di naman ako mukhang masunget." as for her hobbies, she likes reading, listening to music (soundtrip), blogging, surfing the net, dancing when no one's looking, and singing when no one's listening. she also likes fiction, books, movies, music, food, and is extremely fascinated with THE BEACH! her motto? Live and let live.
among all the members of the group, she is the one with the most achievements. a consistent honor student since elementary and highschool, she is also very active in extra-curricular activities such as The SWAN (the school paper), the Glee Club, the CAT, and many many more. she finished salutatorian in highschool. in college, she was still consistent as a diligent student but somehow learned how to take herself lightly. like most of us, she has also experienced cutting classes and all other sort of (wholesome) things that every college student have come across once in their lives. after college, she took up Bachelor of Laws to fulfill her and her daddy's dream and her destiny as well. lucky indeed, she graduated in 2004, took the bar the same year and was officially admitted to The Bar in 2005. she is currently working as an associate lawyer at De Borja, Lamorena & Duano Law Offices in Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City. after having achieved so much at such an early age, you might wonder, what more could she ask for? "to see that all the important people in my life are happy, healthy and content.." very well said.

MONIQUE: Since time immemorial. Kahit may time na pala-absent at di ako mahagilap dati... heehee.
SNC: Person/s you're closest with.
MONIQUE: Alex. Now, lahat na!
SNC: What makes this group different from the others.
MONIQUE: To quote Alex: "walang kaartehan". Mga totoong tao. Mga ranger 'pag lasing. Lakas mag-trip. At walang pikon.
SNC: Most memorable drinking session/s with the group.
MONIQUE: Umm.. memorable siya in a sad way, but memorable nevertheless. It was after the funeral, pumunta kina Virgie. Nanood nung video nung outing. Ang dami kong nainom... E ang sarap nung lambanog. ahahahaha. Tinago ba naman nila yung bote sa ilalim ng hagdan, wala, nakita ko pa rin.. May muntik na nga akong ma-harass nun e, kundi lang ako napigil ni Mac... ahahahaha. Meron pang 1 inuman sa bahay nila Jigs, birthday niya. Andun pa sina Alex & Julius. Tapos before the night was over, sumusuka na si Julius sa gilid ng daan... Pati yung ate at Mama ni Jigs e, parang gustong matawa. May pic pa nga ako nun na nakita si Julius na nakatuwad sa gilid e. Tumatawag ng uwak. ahahaha.
SNC: Other experience/s with the group you will never forget.
MONIQUE: Karamihan ng memories at masasayang experience/s ko with the group, nangyari nung highschool e. Yung pagtambay sa bahay nina Gambit, Jhoy or Jong. Inuman, as in lahat ng inuman. Yung mga unang outing, nagsasasama pa ko nun, simpleng swimming lang sa Pansol, ayus na. Siguro yung unang 2 swimming, kasama ko.
SNC: Things you learned from being with this group.
MONIQUE: Wag magpapakalasing kung ayaw ma-ranger. Ahahahaha. Seriously though... Genuine friendships go a long, long way.
SNC: How do you see this group ten years from now?
MONIQUE: Lahat tayo 36 years old na nun. ahahahahaha. Seriously ulit... Lahat tayo successful na. Nagkikita-kita pa rin every now and then... At mahal pa rin natin ang alak. Hopefully mahal pa rin tayo ng alak nun.

Day Trip to EK
OK, first things first.
GEN, sorry, I'm taking over the chairmanship of the EK trip committee. Tulog ka kasi lagi e, ahahaha! Payag naman sila, di ba friends? ;)
Next.
Kelan ba 'tong day trip na 'to? This weekend na po mga pare. It's a choice between March 11 and 12, depende sa gusto nyong gawin. May suggestions na inuman ng Saturday night, tapos EK ng Sunday the whole day. Available lahat nun pero ang downside is that baka pag naparami inum ng Saturday, low batt lahat sa EK.
Then, Demz and I thought that maybe we can just go ahead with the EK trip on Sunday, maghapon, then leave the inuman for another day... JIGS' BIRTHDAY!!! O di ba, OK yun?
So... unless anyone will have objections, the EK trip will be on March 12, 2006, Sunday. Details like where and what time we'll meet, kayo na magsuggest nito.

among all the members of the group, she is the one with the most achievements. a consistent honor student since elementary and highschool, she is also very active in extra-curricular activities such as The SWAN (the school paper), the Glee Club, the CAT, and many many more. she finished salutatorian in highschool. in college, she was still consistent as a diligent student but somehow learned how to take herself lightly. like most of us, she has also experienced cutting classes and all other sort of (wholesome) things that every college student have come across once in their lives. after college, she took up Bachelor of Laws to fulfill her and her daddy's dream and her destiny as well. lucky indeed, she graduated in 2004, took the bar the same year and was officially admitted to The Bar in 2005. she is currently working as an associate lawyer at De Borja, Lamorena & Duano Law Offices in Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City. after having achieved so much at such an early age, you might wonder, what more could she ask for?
